The London Distillery Company, creators of Dodd’s Gin, has announced its collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to create Kew Organic Gin. This quintessential London gin is crafted using uniquely harvested seasonal flora from the gardens and a selection of organic botanicals from around the world.

Developed at the London based distillery, each bottle will be hand bottled and hand labelled, featuring an exclusive design that is inspired by the extensive archives* at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, a UNESCO world heritage site.

The selection of organic botanicals** used to create the backbone of the gin are deliberately split into three juniper led recipes before being distilled in Christina, a traditional 140-litre copper still. An unusual process, which then sees the three individual distillations married together and rested for up to four weeks to create Kew Organic Gin.

Darren Rook, founder of The London Distillery Company comments: ‘We’re extremely excited to be working with Kew. It’s not everyday you have access to the largest collection of useful, rare and treasured plants in the world.’ Rook added ‘Kew Organic Gin is not just about the botanicals but the packaging too. Taking inspiration from the Kew archives we’ve used traditional typesetting, letterpress printing, vegetable oil based inks (that avoid testing on animals) and incredible British made recycled paper. I’m really proud of this product and what it represents as we strive to be ethical in all we do.’

Quincy Leon, Head of Licencing at Kew ‘This collaboration has resulted in a gin to be proud of. This will become a classic.’
