Whether it is a mental or a written bucket list, everyone has a list of things they would like to do in their lifetime. These lists are important, since they contain our aims, goals, and ambitions, and they are unique to each person. These are seven spectacular activities that you should consider adding to your list.

1) See the Northern Lights

Yes, it may be on everyone’s bucket list, but with good reason. The Northern Lights are beautiful, and unless you live in a place where they are frequent, it might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

2) Take a picture every day for an entire year

Try documenting your year with one picture per day, then create a photo album of your year. This is a fun project for anyone, especially if you enjoy photography.

3) Go stargazing

Take your significant other, or a friend, or even just go yourself, but make it a point to stargaze at least once. Try it the next time you are out camping, away from all the city lights so you can see all of the stunning night sky.

4) Backpack

If you have the money and can get the time off work, backpacking is an amazing activity to do at some point in your life. Instead of trying to plan a vacation, just go to Europe or another continent and backpack. Take buses and trains to all kinds of different places, and see where you end up. You will see some amazing things, and meet all kinds of new people.

5) Learn something

Going to school is one thing, but actually learning something is another. What we learn in school doesn’t necessarily stick with us, but you can learn something you will use for a lifetime. Learn a new language, or some kind of craft, or a new dance. Not only is it fun, but it gives you something to do in your free time and lets you meet new people who are interested in similar activities.

6) Visit a major landmark

Take a trip to the Great Wall of China, or the Parthenon, or the Hollywood Walk of Fame. No matter where you are, there is sure to be some sort of amazing landmark with a great history and culture that you can visit.

7) Attend a festival or convention

There are hundreds and thousands of festivals and conventions held around the world. Whether you are interested in music or sports or anything in between, there will always be a festival that is available for you to go to. You will meet people you have common interests with, and will have some great experiences at any of these gatherings.
